Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 and S7-1500

Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 and S7-1500

The successors introduced in 2009 and 2012 to the widely used Siemens S7 200, 300, and 400 series can be found in more and more production facilities. Similar to their predecessors, they often represent the heart of various systems and contain a lot of process data.

The ENLYZE SPARK can connect Plug & Play with these controls and read all process data. Unlike most of our competitors, the ENLYZE SPARK can read a complete variable list directly from the controller. It supports optimized block access and does not rely on the outdated PUT/GET communication. Therefore, no changes to the S7 programming are necessary to connect an ENLYZE SPARK to an S7-1200 or S7-1500. It is also possible to connect to password-protected controls or a S7-1500 Software Controller.

The ENLYZE SPARK is connected via Ethernet to one of the PROFINET ports of the controller. Since this port is often occupied, a network switch can also be connected upstream.

Required information:

  • Manufacturer of the system

  • Photo of the control cabinet with the S7-1200/1500 controller

  • If available: IP address of the controller as well as a free IP address (for the ENLYZE SPARK) in the same network. Alternatively, ENLYZE can determine this information during an on-site visit.

Technologies used:

  • S7Plus protocol (also called “OMS+,” “S7CommPlus,” or “S7-2”)
